Method :
- Put the lentils into a pan with
the stock or water, salt and turmeric.
- Bring to the boil and then simmer
for about 45 minutes until the lentils are soft and the liquid has
been absorbed.
- Heat the oil and cook the finely
chopped onion until soft and golden.
- Stir in the curry powder, curry
paste, garam masala and herbs and cook over low heat for 3 minutes.
- Stir in the lentils, reheat and
serve hot.
Note :
Known as dahl, this tasty lentil dish
is an accompaniment to curry, but it is also good with meat, poultry,
sausages, game or fish.
